Chapbook Contest Complete! Thank you to all our submitters and readers!

Our contest is now officially closed—thank you to everyone who submitted their work and trusted us with your words.

We’re excited to share that all selections have been forwarded to our guest judge, Randall James Tyrone, author of City of Dis (TRP), for final review.

Winners and runner-ups will be announced soon. In the meantime, be sure to follow our social media channels for updates, announcements, and a few behind-the-scenes glimpses as we move through the final stage.

We can’t wait to celebrate these incredible voices with you.

We are considering chapbooks of any genre, including visual and mixed media work, that match the theme "Blending." One chapbook will be selected, with the possibility of more depending.

As always, we’re looking to uplift marginalized voices but are happy to read all submissions. We love genre-bending works, material on the human experience, really anything that makes us see the world differently afterwards.

While this round we have a $15 reading fee, waivers are always available upon request. We understand that these are hard times, and so some writers may not be able to afford $15 while others may be able to contribute more. Pay what you can and what you are comfortable with. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit, so the proceeds will go towards ordering books, hiring an artist, and all other costs associated with publishing, so if you're able to donate more, we would really appreciate it as we often have to pay out of pocket to cover costs!

Chapbook Requirements:

  • 15,000 words or less preferred, 40 pages max.

  • Open to visual/mixed media, mixed media works will undergo an additional editorial/art screening.

  • Double spaced, 12pt, Times New Roman or Garamond.

  • Includes a cover sheet, acknowledgements, and table of contents (these will not be counted towards your total page count).

  • The cover sheet should include your name, address, and contact information (e-mail).

  • The acknowledgements section needs to contain a list of journals or magazines that have published pieces from the chapbook you are submitting, if applicable
