About the event
This workshop centers around queering characters, plot, subject, form, and dialogue. For this workshop and the viewer’s own usage, the word “queer” defines anything that goes against “normal” conventions and heteronormativity. We will discuss ways writers can challenge their own craft elements to better represent queer identities and existences and ask questions such as can characters, plot, and form contain both normative and queer elements? The last portion of the workshop includes a few short writing prompts. Parental consent is required for viewers younger than 18.
