Field Notes is a short form, multi-genre department of Defunkt Magazine seeking the ephemeral and experiential moments you lived (or didn’t) displayed for our eyes, ears, and dreams. We’re looking for the thing you have to tell us immediately and a recount of what we should have been there to see.

Though we are looking for short form pieces (1 page of poetry, 1200 words of prose, a picture, a really short video, etc), that doesn’t mean we don’t want deets on that whole romantic night you had last week. Tell us about that whole tasting menu and all the wines you drank. How fast was the plane going and where exactly in Kansas are you living? Punch us in the freaking face.
