DecriptionLast Stop by SG Huerta is a sincere, haunting poetry collection that explores all facets of grief after the loss of the author’s father. The poems in this collection create an immersive experience by moving through a rhythmic, lyrical intimacy that is so powerful it highlights even the smaller moments of grief that are hard to capture. SG Huerta’s unmatched lyricism captivates a unique honesty readers can neither turn away nor hide from, leaving a lasting impact on readers long after finishing.

What Readers Are Saying:

"SG Huerta's poems knock me out."

- Naomi Shibab Nye, author of Habibi

"In Last Stop, SG Huerta gives voice to the full experience of grief, not just the BIG GRIEF, but the smaller griefs we often don’t hear (or witness): sharing the same gas station as the hearse of the father that’s been lost, the lingering Facebook comments to respond to, the trains that continue running regardless of whose life has been cut short. In this intimate elegiac journey, Huerta expands how we might communally connect around the way grief pokes holes in and up through the mundane, the spaces where grief most clearly wants to be felt.."

 - Addie Tsai, author of Unwieldy Creatures

"SG Huerta’s Last Stop cracks grief open like a mussel, inviting readers to witness thecomplexities of mortality and memory. Huerta has artfully captured the honest reality of what comes after loss.."

- Cloud Delfina Cardona, author of What Remains
